The Woven Basket, Life’s Lessons, is a gathering of teachings shared by Grand Chief Steven Point, Xwĕ lī qwĕl tĕl, former Chief of Skowkale First Nation and 28th Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia. In Stó:lō tradition these Creator-sent teachings are called Eewis. They arrive through hardship and healing, through the words of a child, or the teachings carried by the natural world around us. They return until we are ready to receive them.
